New stable release of cWB is now available

This new release (cWB-6.4.8.0) is a minor upgrade of cWB 2G: it consolidates the 6.4.6.x/6.4.7.0 development line, and a second, independent development line, into a single, validated production version. It adds a multi-threaded (OpenMP) Coherence and SuperCluster stage for faster reconstructions, the new xmdc class for injections uniformly distributed in volume, an extended set of wave-packet patterns and a new targeted-search mode for directional follow-up of a known/expected sky position (an external GRB/FRB/CCSN counterpart, or a fixed target such as the Galactic Center), and a round of bug fixes and build-system improvements, including a self-contained GW150914 end-to-end regression test now run in continuous integration. It is being used to analyze the Fourth Observing run, O4.

The standard installation method is now based on cmake; the Makefiles are still maintained as an alternative, for backward compatibility.

The cWB package is also distributed through conda-forge: see cwb-feedstock for more details. [CONDA-FORGE-PENDING: feedstock not yet updated to 6.4.8.0]
